| Orlando International reports passenger increase
Orlando Business Journal - March 10, 2006
Picking up where it left off in record-setting 2005, Orlando International Airport has announced that January traffic increased nearly 2.5 percent to more than 2.8 million passengers compared to January last year.
"This level if increase in passenger traffic allows us to continue with our focus to increase capacity within our existing facilities through the use of innovative technologies," says Steve Gardner, interim executive director for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
In addition, Orlando Executive Airport reported that January traffic increased more than 9 percent over the same month in 2005.
Orlando International serves more domestic markets than any other airport in Florida, helping to make it the busiest airport in the state with more than 34.1 million passengers in 2005.
